How to Send a Delayed Abandoned Cart

When you have an e-commerce store, you know you have to send abandoned cart emails. You may even do abandoned cart flows that send multiple emails, but still no sale. How many potential customers could you get if you hit the customer one more time after a longer delay? Here’s how to set this up.

The Setup Requirements

  • Klaviyo
  • Shopify Integration
  • 1 Email / Email Series

Here’s how this works

Essentially, this is giving you one more opportunity to try and close someone who started a checkout. We find that sometimes waiting a little longer gives someone time to reconsider purchasing – 3 months is a little bit arbitrary, you could wait only a month, but the idea is to have another email that isn’t a standard abandoned cart. You may want to use something along the lines of “We thought you might like this… and we don’t want you to miss it! (We’re running low on stock).” The idea is to get the person to come back since that person thought about buying already.
